Description: You Are Here is a book about growing up without knowing where one is supposed to arrive. Rather than presenting growth as progress or improvement, the book documents moments of confusion, hesitation, and emotional contradiction experienced during adolescence and early adulthood. Through a series of short essays and fragmented narratives, the project reflects on how ideas of “becoming better” or “becoming an adult” often function as external pressures rather than internal desires.

Placed under Overuse / Imbalance, this book represents a period in which identity, emotion, and expectation are overextended. The constant need to define oneself, to like or dislike decisively, and to imagine an ideal future self becomes a form of exhaustion. The phrase “You are here,” commonly used on maps, is intentionally stripped of direction or destination; it marks a location without promising progress. In this way, the book captures an imbalanced state of living—one driven by comparison, anticipation, and self-surveillance—before any strategy of adjustment or care is introduced.

Rather than offering solutions, You Are Here remains with uncertainty. It documents imbalance not as a problem to be fixed, but as a condition to be acknowledged. This project serves as an early foundation for later explorations of care, where awareness precedes intervention.
