About: Exchange & Currency is a publication developed through direct participation in an independent book fair. The project documents how value is negotiated in situ, collecting pricing standards from different booths and translating them into comparative tables. Rather than assuming a fixed market logic, the work highlights how prices emerge through individual judgment, material considerations, and situational exchange.

Placed under Participation / Engagement, this project is grounded in presence and interaction. Pricing is not treated as abstract data, but as something encountered through conversation, purchase, and exchange. Alongside the tables, receipts from different vendors are archived as material traces of these interactions, preserving moments where value is temporarily agreed upon between maker and buyer.

By moving between participation and documentation, Exchange & Currency frames the book fair as a micro-economy shaped by human decision-making rather than standardized systems. The publication positions design as a tool for engaging with existing structures—entering them, recording them, and making their underlying negotiations visible through lived experience.
